RAIN BIRD ANNOUNCES NEW GOLF BLACK SOLENOID (GBS)

The Best Just Got Better

Rain Bird’s Golf Black Solenoid (GBS) is for all electric rotors and electric cases. The GBS replaces the green coil solenoid and has several new and improved features:

Captured plunger for greater reliability
Reduced electrical draw to improve transformer robustness
Same surge resistance: Up to 20KV as current solenoid
Improved grit tolerance to waterborne particles
Mounting is 2X stronger than before
One piece coil and solenoid for improved durability

All electrical operation will be backward-compatible with green coil solenoid rotors, controllers, and decoders. The GBS will mount on existing rotor PRS mounts with the supplied adaptor. The green coil solenoid will remain available for field service part usage.
